‘The president wants you right away’: Treasury secretary Scott Bessent pulled from live broadcast; viewers say his voice was ‘shaken’ — watch

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was abruptly pulled from a live interview after being told that Donald Trump wanted to see him “right away.” Bessent was speaking during a live broadcast on Sky News when the interview was suddenly interrupted and he had to leave the set. He returned to the programme nearly two hours later to continue the discussion. During the resumed broadcast, presenter Wilfred Frost remarked that it was the first time he had seen a live interview halted midway and asked whether the interruption meant President Trump was under stress. Responding to the question, Bessent dismissed the suggestion. “No, the president is in great spirits. The Iranian mission is proceeding well ahead of schedule,” he said. Bessent added that he had full confidence in the administration’s leadership handling the situation. “And I have to tell you, Wilf, that I have a teenager who’s considering military service. I could give this team my highest compliment,” he said. “From President Trump to the head of the Joint Chiefs to the Secretary of War, I would say that I would trust my child’s life in their hands,” Bessent added. As the clip of interview being pulled away in mid goes viral, several users on X noticed that Bessent’s voice was shaking after he resumed the broadcast. “I’ve never seen him visibly shaken like this,” one user said on X, while another one said, “Pay close attention to his body language, tone of voice, and words afterward – sometimes they speak louder than the words themselves, especially in the context of the economic situation and the consequences for the US.”An user said, “After returning, his voice was noticeably shaken.”
