CAT relief to Wankhede set aside by HC

NEW DELHI: Delhi high court has revived disciplinary proceedings against Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Sameer Wankhede in connection with drugs seized as part of a case in 2021, setting aside Central Administrative Tribunal’s (CAT) relief. The 2008-batch officer came under spotlight for allegedly threatening to implicate actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan in the Cordelia cruise drug bust case during his tenure at Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai in 2021. In its order last week, the HC bench of Justices Anil Kshetarpal and Amit Mahajan approved continuation of disciplinary proceedings against Wankhede, allowing a plea by the Centre against CAT’s order that had quashed the action.
