The arrival of spring is also celebrated on this day. As per the Gregorian calendar, Ugadi falls on the Chaitra Shukla Pratipada usually, this day falls in March-April month. Additionally, this celebration ushers in a new Samvatsara, a sixty-year cycle in which each year is given a distinct name. The Sanskrit terms “yuga,” which means age, and “adi,” which means beginning, are the origin of the term Yugadi. According to the Luni-Solar calendar, this celebration marks the start of a new year. People visit different temples and worship to God on this fortunate day. They prepare various dishes and desserts and share them with friends, family, and relatives as part of their celebration.
