PSSSB Excise Inspector recruitment 2026: The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) has started the online registration process for the recruitment of Excise and Taxation Inspector posts. PSSSB has notified 197 posts of Excise and Taxation Inspector. The vacancies are divided among different categories as per Punjab government reservation rules.
Eligibility criteria
Educational qualification:
- Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
- Must have passed matriculation with Punjabi as a subject
- Should have completed a 120-hour computer course with practical training in office applications or possess a Department of Electronics Accreditation of Computer Courses (DOEACC) ‘O’ level certificate
Age limit:
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age (general category): 37 years
- Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government norms
Selection process and exam pattern
The selection process consists of:
- Written examination
- Typing test
- There will be no interview.
Written exam details
- Total marks: 100
- Mode: Offline
- Duration: 2 hours
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer

- Language Proficiency (Punjabi and English)
Candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for the typing test. Final selection will be based on performance in the prescribed stages.
Salary details
Selected candidates will receive pay as per the 7th Central Pay Commission. The starting basic pay is Rs 35,400 per month, along with applicable allowances.Application fee:
