Infosys pays average 85% performance bonus for Q3; payout to be credited with February salary

Software major Infosys on Friday announced an average organisation-wise performance bonus payout of 85% for the quarter ended December (Q3FY2025-26), with a large section of employees receiving higher variable pay, ET reported.Employees will receive the bonus along with their February salary, the company said in an email to staff. The higher payout follows a quarter marked by strong business performance and deal wins, boosting employee sentiment at a time when technology stocks came under sharp pressure on stock exchanges.“This will hopefully build a positive momentum for the sector,” an employee said.Another employee ET spoke to said he received about 15% higher payout compared to the previous quarter.“I have been with Infosys for three years now, and I have never got 100% bonus pay,” he said, adding that some of his colleagues received as much as 100% this time.At an individual level, employees received between 75% and 100%, sources familiar with the matter said.“This is not only the best so far in the financial year 2025-26, but better than any quarter in the last fiscal year,” sources said. Infosys did not respond to ET email seeking details.Chief Human Resources Officer Shaji Mathew had told employees at a town hall meeting last month that they may receive higher variable pay this time.Infosys has around 3,23,000 employees. In the July-September quarter, the company had paid an average of 75% of eligible or target bonus to employees. Some employees said they are now hoping for similar positive developments on salary hikes. Infosys released employee-wise ratings in December after completing appraisals for the period from November 2024 to October 2025.Infosys, while announcing its third quarter results in January, had raised its revenue forecast, with management sounding optimistic after what it described as a strong quarterly performance and favourable tailwinds.Ahead of the town hall meeting, several employees had raised queries on pay increases and timelines for communication. The company had issued salary revision letters in February last year, with hikes ranging between 5% and 8% for most employees based on performance ratings.
