KMC marks 72nd Founder's Day with cultural vibrance
Celebrating its 72nd Founder’s Day, Kirori Mal College hosted a memorable day filled with activities, including the ceremonial flag hoisting, impactful addresses from influential speakers, and the introduction of the Bharat Consulting Report

Kirori Mal College, Delhi University marked its 72nd Founder’s Day on February 1. The celebrations began with a puja, followed by the distribution of prasad, setting a solemn tone for the day. The programme was attended by the Chief Guest, Bharat Bhushan, founder of Samarth Bharat and Director of the Udhmodaye Foundation, and the Chairperson of the College Governing Body and former Education Minister of Gujarat, Prof. Vasuben Trivedi.The Chief Guest hoisted the National Flag, followed by the rendition of the National Song and an impressive NCC Guard of Honour. Principal of KMC, Prof. Dinesh Khattar felicitated the Chief Guest and other distinguished guests, highlighted the college’s significant achievements, and showcased several ongoing initiatives.A major highlight of the Founder’s Day celebration was the release of the Bharat Consulting Report and the Annual Diary of Kirori Mal College by the Media Committee, along with the Research Awards Distribution Ceremony. Additionally, an exhibition by the Fine Arts and Photography Society was organised, which saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. Alumni Desk was also established, reflecting the institution’s commitment to documentation and strengthening of alumni engagement. Energetic performances by the music society infused vibrancy into the event and emerged as key attractions of the celebration.The dignitaries emphasised leadership, responsible entrepreneurship, and the crucial role of education in nation-building in their addresses. The programme also noted the academic, research, and co-curricular achievements of the college, appreciating the dedicated contributions of faculty members and students. Following the formal proceedings, various sports matches were organised, adding an energetic and festive spirit to the day. The Founder’s Day celebration emerged as a harmonious blend of tradition, academic reflection, institutional progress, and active student participation.
