Applicants are required to submit academic transcripts, statements of purpose, and preferred project profiles. Students can apply to multiple projects since they might be interested in more than one research area. In case of any queries, students may reach out to the internship team at internships@iitgn.ac.in. Selection would depend upon academic background, matching of interest with projects offered, and, of course, the quality of the application.

Programme duration, stipend and awards

The internship will be conducted on-campus for a minimum of eight weeks during the summer. Interns will receive a stipend of ₹2,000 per week, covering up to eight weeks. In addition, outstanding participants may be awarded the Bhalodia-Khetan Summer Research Excellence Award, carrying a prize of ₹50,000. The programme aims to provide students with real-world research experience while encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Learning opportunities and campus experience

Apart from research, SRIP 2026 includes a lecture series and Chalk the Talk sessions, giving students the chance to interact with IITGN faculty and guest speakers. Students also participate in poster presentations, cultural activities, and sports, making the internship a balanced mix of academic learning and campus life. The programme encourages teamwork, networking, and collaboration, preparing students for future academic and professional challenges. Participants gain exposure to cutting-edge research, mentorship from experienced faculty, and the chance to showcase their work in a supportive environment.
