The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has announced the annual exam dates for Class 9 and Class 11 for the 2025–26 academic session. The exams will begin on March 7, 2026. The board has said that the results will be declared on March 25, 2026. The revised schedule has been issued to ensure that the new academic session starts from April 1. Along with the exam announcement, the Rajasthan education department has ended the automatic promotion system for Classes 5 and 8. Students in these classes will now have to pass their annual exams to move to the next class. Schools have been directed to follow the updated rules strictly.

RBSE class 9 and 11 exam schedule and result date

As per the official update, the RBSE Class 9 and Class 11 annual exams will start from March 7, 2026. The exams are expected to continue till mid-March. The board has fixed March 25, 2026, as the date for the declaration of results.The decision to announce results in March has been taken so that the next academic session can begin on time. Schools across Rajasthan have been instructed to complete evaluation work quickly. Detailed subject-wise timetables have been shared with schools and are available through official channels.

No automatic promotion for classes 5 and 8

In a major policy change, the Rajasthan education department has ended the automatic promotion system for Classes 5 and 8. Earlier, students were promoted to the next class without being detained even if they did not secure minimum marks.From the 2025–26 session onwards, students must pass the annual exams to be promoted. If a student fails, they may be given another chance to appear in a re-exam within a fixed period. If they do not clear the re-exam, they will have to repeat the class.Officials have said that the move aims to improve learning levels and ensure that students achieve basic academic standards before moving ahead.

Rajasthan schools asked to ensure smooth conduct

The education department has directed district authorities and school heads to ensure smooth conduct of exams. Instructions have been issued regarding timely completion of syllabus, fair evaluation and quick result processing.With exams beginning on March 7 and results scheduled for March 25, students of Classes 9 and 11 now have a clear timeline. Schools are expected to prepare accordingly and inform students and parents about the revised promotion rules and exam schedule.
