Are you a graduate student dreaming of a front-row seat to global diplomacy? The United Nations Office at Geneva is offering just that through its Graduate Study Programme (GSP)—the longest-running educational initiative of the UN. For over 63 years, nearly 3,500 students from more than 120 countries have participated, gaining unique insights into how the UN and “International Geneva” work.Whats the GSP All About? The programme is an intensive summer seminar of two weeks duration where learning continues beyond the textbooks. Imagine lectures by UN officials, group projects, research assignments, and visits to international institutions. Besides, you will have the chance to network with experts and peers from all over the world. It is a great opportunity to see firsthand how global decisions are madeand who knows, maybe youll get a spark for your future career.64th Edition: AI and Emerging TechnologiesThis years theme AI and Emerging Technologies: Realities, Risks and Opportunities makes the programme even more exciting. From 29 June to 10 July 2026, the participants will discuss the impact of artificial intelligence and new technologies on global policy, ethics, and international governance. So if you are into diplomacy, tech policy, or international law, here is a front seat for the debates that will shape the future.Who Should Apply?The GSP is open to graduate students aged 22–32, currently enrolled in a Master’s, MBA, PhD, or post-doctoral programme, who are fluent in English and not employed full-time. Selection is based on academic excellence, motivation, extracurricular or professional experience, and recommendation letters. The UN makes every effort to ensure gender and regional diversity, so students from India and across the globe have a real shot.Why It’s a Big DealLet’s be honest: this is not just another summer course. Alumni often describe it as transformative, helping them launch careers in diplomacy, international organisations, and global policy.
