Actors Aditi Rao Hydari and Barun Sobti will lead filmmaker Konkona Sen Sharma’s first long-form web series, according to reports. The yet-untitled project is a contemporary romantic comedy being developed for Amazon Prime Video. Set in South Delhi, the series marks Konkona’s digital directorial debut in a long-form show and brings together two actors who have never shared screen space. According to Variety India, Konkona was keen on casting a fresh pairing, noting that the report described Aditi Rao Hydari and Barun Sobti as popular faces in the romance genre with strong individual fan bases and that they had not worked together before.The casting choice has added to the buzz around the show, which was already drawing attention as Konkona’s “maiden web series” as a director.
