At the time, while the two may not have attended it together, many believe that it was the first place that the two could have possibly met. Later on in October, the two were spotted attending a ‘Kings of Leon’ concert together, adding fuel to the rumors that had already started circulating. A few months later, Swift ended up admitting that her song ‘Gorgeous’ is about Alwyn, and the two became more official than ever. Over the course of six years, however, the two remained fairly quiet about their relationship. In an interview with The Guardian, Alwyn talked about the relationship and cited that it was something in the past. He stated, “That’s something for other people to do. We’re talking about something that was a while ago now in my life. So that’s for other people. That’s what I feel.” He also further talked about trying to keep control, specifically of the things that are within his grasp. In her docuseries ‘The End of an Era,’ Swift briefly talked about her breakup with Joe Alwyn, as well as Matt Healy. In one of the segments, she stated, “I went through two breakups in the first half of this tour, and that’s a lot of breakups, actually,” further commenting that “Men will let you down. The Eras Tour never will.”While the couple has maintained silence, many have speculated that the two simply drifted apart over time and come to the conclusion that their relationship was not serving them, and chose to part ways.
