NEW DELHI: Two people were killed and several others injured after a Rajasthan-bound sleeper bus lost control and overturned late last night near the Jhandewalan Temple in Delhi’s Karol Bagh area, Delhi Police said. The Delhi Fire Service received the emergency call at 1:08am about the bus overturning near Hanuman Mandir Chowk. There were around 25–35 passengers on board at the time. Rescue teams and bystanders helped evacuate the passengers, and the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals. Two of the injured are reported to be in critical condition. An eyewitness said, “There were nearly 30–35 people in the bus. We tried to rescue the passengers as much as possible.” Police are investigating the cause of the accident, including whether driver error or road conditions contributed to the mishap.(With agency inputs)
